Safari enthusiasts flock to Tanzania by the thousands every year to see the BIG 5, a term used in the travel lingo to refer to the five largest mammals to be found – elephants, leopards, lions, rhinos, and buffalo.

However, the PSCTP also hires guides from the Tanzanian safari business as travel support during our trip, and over the years, we have gotten to know our drivers and their families. They are an asset as they regularly translate and teach us about Tanzanian culture to ensure that our care is respectful and effective. Safaris are a significant part of Tanzania’s economy, which has unfortunately suffered from the COVID-19 pandemic.
