On Sunday, February 11, 2024, the team hosted our scholars for an all-day conference.
From Mary Mendelsohn, RN: “Thrilled about our inaugural Scholar Conference where our scholars met us and one another and engaged in discussions about our scholarship program. Our scholars, the Huntington Health medical residents, Dr. Kim Shriner, Edwin Deras, MPH (clinic and project volunteer – see Edwin’s story), Dr. Ezekiel Moirana and I gave presentations that generated interesting discussions and inspirited our scholars with stories of perseverance. The Arusha Safari Lodge has been so accommodating, and even made our scholar Boniphace Petro’s birthday very special with a dance and beautiful cake!”
